Snow!

I don't throw like a girl.

Maggie, Emma, Chucky. The picture is from a distance as I stand in the house. Too cold for mommy! I love having the excuse that I have to stay inside with Libby.

Saturday was quite a frusterating day for Emma. She watched by the window as it snowed on and off all day, and finally around 3pm it started to stick. She got her snowsuit on and I bundled her up. Chucky took her outside for an hour of play. There wasn't much snow to play in, but it was great for making snowballs.
Sunday morning she was pulling on her boots before breakfast. We convinced her to eat first, then Chucky grumpily took her outside - on the coolest morning we had seen a while, about 17 degrees. They walked around and discovered the snow was now just like powder, it wasn't wet. They couldn't make snowballs . . . or a snowman. Emma has been asking every day when it was going to snow, I was so happy for her that it had finally snowed, and now she can't make a snowman! Bummer.
We took her to Amy, Kevin, Maggie and Mason's house for lunch, then she and Maggie rode on the sleigh as Kevin pulled them with the truck. Meanwhile their dalmation ran around the backyard with part of a dead turkey. Gross. Emma and Maggie went out about three times and never could build a snowman. It takes a great amount of patience to bundle up a three year that wants to do it all herself, long johns, pants, shirt, sweater, snowsuit, boots, hat, gloves. At least it has snowed and maybe she will stop asking me when it will snow!
